Update: Smarter Scrubber Pre-orders

Hey there,

WOW. We did not expect such an overwhelming response to the Smarter Scrubber project. We’ve sold about 4X the scrubbers we were expecting — which is GREAT!

Our holdup right now is getting the chain mail manufactured. We’re pumping them out as quickly as we can, and we recognize that some of you might be getting impatient at this point. We’ve actually received a few phone calls, and when we relay what exactly is going on, people have been SO NICE — which we’re grateful for.

We thought it might make sense to make a video to show you exactly what’s going on. Check out this video:

As you can see, we’re staying true to the vision. We had the option of shipping Chinese chain mail, but it just didn’t feel right to do that since that’s not what we set out to do. Good news though! Our Canadian friends up north have come along to offer some help. We found a manufacturer that’s making chain mail out of wire made in the USA, so we’re starting to get a higher volume of chain mail.

We will laser the country of origin of each scrubber component on the inside of the handle so you will know where everything was made! This isn’t the easy way to do it, but it certainly feels right.

If you need to cancel, we 100% understand and will refund you — no questions asked. But overwhelmingly, people have been not only patient, but enthusiastic about being a part of something so awesome! Local manufacturing is key, and we’re trying our best to make it happen.
